Rome - The Italians want to learn English but it is expensive. The number of abandoned dogs this year increased by 9% and the shelter needs money. Steven Riznyk, an American lawyer for the Immigration and film producer who lives in Rome and works in the United States has had a brilliant idea that will combine both needs. He created a school that teaches conversational English to the Romans only 5 euros for a 2-hour lesson. All proceeds will go to shelters in Rome. The lessons, which began in June, are fun and educational at the same time. Provide support for language and grammar, as well as appropriate use of language and correct pronunciation. (more ...)

Why a boy or a girl growing up in a certain place have to be initiated into a religion just because it is considered a state religion?

Would not it be fairer to provide knowledge of the history of religions fairly NEUTRAL and each of them the foundation to then choose freely, once gained the idea based on what one feels more like his own, the religion to follow accepted that I want to follow one? (more ...)

About fifty years ago, Noam Chomsky, the scientist certainly the most quoted in the entire postwar theory of generative grammar, suggested to ignore the problems around the birth of language and what were his brain mechanisms, because they were located well beyond the possibility of a serious scientific inquiry.
Instead, today, the questions of the origin of language and how the brain controls speech, are considered the most important themes neuroscience.
Our species has a gift that no other creature known have, ie a language with complex syntax and a rich semantics that can be continuously enriched. (more ...)
